Dr Omar Kamlin

Dr Omar Kamlin graduated from the University of London and completed his postgraduate paediatric training in the UK and the Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne Australia. He has been a Consultant Neonatal Paediatrician at the Royal Women’s Hospital and PIPER (NETS) since 2006. Omar has a special interest investigating techniques of resuscitation in the delivery room and optimising early respiratory support in the neonatal intensive care unit. Dr Kamlin has been involved in the design and conduct of many randomised clinical trials in newly born infants. He was the site PI for the recently completed OPTIMIST trial and is currently co-PI of the PLUSS Trial – a randomised trial of intra-tracheal budesonide to increase survival free of bronchopulmonary dysplasia.

Dr Kamlin is a Chief Investigator on the POLAR Trial, and sits as a representative on both the Trial Executive Committee (TEC) and the Trial Steering Committee (TSC).
